| so another year is coming to an end... well not an actual year per se, but it's been a year for me... 46 weeks at the College of Oceaneering with 4 to go...
so as this year comes to an end I thought I'd write a post about it, and I need a soundtrack for it... I chose the Bouncing Souls song, True Believers, for reasons I will tell you about, but first, the lyrics:
I've met some people along the way, some of them split some of them stay, some of them walk some walk on by, I've got a few friends I'll love till I die From all of these people I try to learn, some of them shine some of them burn, some of them rise some of them fall, for good or bad I've known them all We live our life in our own way, never really listened to what they say, the kind of faith that doesn't fade away we are the true believers well you can fight or you can run, hide under a rock till the war is won, play it safe and don't make a sound, but not us we won't back down true believers all the way, you and I, we are the true believers
so, as for why I it's been the soundtrack for this year. alright... I showed up year at school almost a year ago, thinking one thing: "you know, I don't know how to weld underwater, I don't even know how it's possible, but if people can do it, I want to be one of them." Well starting out in my class were 28 other people thinking along the same lines.... now, gradutating with me we are probably gonna have 9. That's right, 19 people dropped out or roled back somewhere along the way.... so that explains the whole "I've met some people along the way, some of them split some of them stay" part.
The whole "We live our life in our own way, never really listened to what they say," well fuck man... we're divers, what more is there to say....
"well you can fight or you can run.... but not us we won't back down, True Believers all the way" This part, well ya it hasn't been easy, I understand why all those people dropped out (well I understand why some of them left, the rest were pussies) but ya... from studying hard, to getting used to the water, to worring about money, to working to much that I couldn't get up for school on time, to trying to understand why my welds look like shit, it hasn't been easy. (by the way... my welds don't look like shit anymore.. I got it taken care of)
so there you have it, that's why this song's the sound track for this year. Plus it's a cool song and I just like to romantasize and glorify my life when it's not really that great. (yes I did stay in watching TV most nights this week)
well that's all I have to say about that. |
